Mark Saltzman

Mark Saltzman

Mark Saltzman lives in Madison and has been a music teacher in the Madison Metropolitan School District for over 25 years.  Mark received his undergraduate and Masters degrees from UW-Madison. He has been a conductor at UW-Madison, Edgewood College as well as a founding director of the Madison Wind Ensemble and the Madison All-City Honor Band.  He has been a member of the Madison Jazz Orchestra and is a member of the Acme Brass Quintet.  Mark has been teaching bands since 1989 and has taught in several communities in Wisconsin including Benton, Beaver Dam and Milton and is presently the Band Director at Madison East High School.

Katherine W. Punwar

Katherine Punwar

Katherine Punwar taught many combinations of choir, orchestra, band and general music for 32 years, first in the Anoka-Hennepin School District in Minnesota, then at Sennett Middle School in Madison, Wisconsin until her retirement in 2016. She received her Bachelor of Music Education degree at the University of Wisconsin – Madison. Also an arranger and composer, her commissions include pieces for the Greater Twin Cities Youth Symphonies, the Bloomington-Illinois School District, the Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestras, South Milwaukee School District, Tippasaukee, Monona Grove School District and the Lakeshore Philharmonic Youth Orchestras in Kenosha. She was a facilitator and member of the WSMA (Wisconsin School Music Association) Comprehensive Musicianship Through Performance Project for over ten years. Katherine lives in Monona, Wisconsin.

Glenn Nielsen

Glenn Nielsen is the director emeritus of the New Horizons Band in Madison, Wisconsin. He also conducts the McFarland Community band and has a private woodwind lesson studio. Glenn graduated from Luther College (BA 1970) and the University of Idaho (MM 1971). He taught 6-12 instrumental music for 32 years in the McFarland schools. Glenn is a past-president of the Wisconsin Music Educators Conference and was chairman of the Wisconsin Middle Level Honors Project involving gifted and talented music students in a Honors Band, Orchestra and Choir. He has been a band clinician and honor band conductor throughout the mid-west. Interests include travel (Prague is his favorite city), gardening, and board games. His wife, Meg, three children and two grandchildren are the joys of his life.
